Gov. Wolf announces $2M state investment for Gautier plant

JOHNSTOWN – Gov. Tom Wolf on Friday announced a $2 million state investment that will support the construction of a plate mill at Gautier Specialty Metals and Gautier Steel in Cambria County. PA State Police Corporal arrested, accused of stealing heroin from evidence room

Dauphin County, PA — Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Brian Rickard was charged Friday after being accused of stealing heroin from the Troop R, Honesdale evidence room, ingesting it while at work and home, and using work computers and programs to cover up the thefts, officials say. Police say Rickard is facing a number of charges including, Obstructing administration of law or other governmental function, tampering with records or identification, and acquisition or obtaining possession of controlled substance by misrepresentation, among other charges. Pete Vuckovich signs first MLB deal

JOHNSTOWN -- Conemaugh Valley graduate Pete Vuckovich was one of the greatest athletes this area has ever seen. The former Blue Jay went on to star at Clarion University as a right-handed flame thrower on the diamond with a bright future. Vuckovich was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1974 and went on to pitch for Toronto, St. Louis, and Milwaukee. Vuckovich won the N.L. Cy Young award with the Brewers in 1982. Read More...
