Tanneryville man remembers devastation from 1977 Johnstown Flood

WEST TAYLOR TOWNSHIP -- There are countless stories to tell from the 1977 flood, which happened 40 years ago this week. And one area hit the hardest was Tanneryville. Out of the 85 people who died in the flood, nearly half lived in Tanneryville. As Penn State football prepares to return, so does the stadium's cleanup crew & its recycling policy

University Park, PA (WJAC) — With Penn State football opening its season this Saturday night at Beaver Stadium, fans will once again be asked to get familiar with the blue and clear plastic bags that have become a fixture outside of the stadium. Fourth of July celebrations keep Cambria County 911 dispatchers busy with fireworks-related calls

Johnstown, Pa — While many were busy on the Fourth of July with parties, 911 dispatchers were busy at work where they received some calls related to those celebrations - especially surrounding the fireworks. 6 News spoke with Art Martynuska, the Executive Director of Cambria County Emergency Services who says these kinds of calls on holidays like the Fourth of July are nothing out of the ordinary. “Fourth of July, you know, we see it happen time and time again, so the dispatchers are prepared,” said Martynuska.
