SciFi Valley Con returns this weekend in Altoona

BLAIR CO, Pa (WJAC) — The annual Sci-Fi Valley Con is back this weekend in Altoona at the Blair County Convention Center. The event celebrates all things pop culture with several celebrity guests in attendance to meet with fans. Attendees will be able to browse over 300 vendors. Organizers say the show draws between 4 to 5-thousand people annually, and COVID safety protocols will be in place all weekend. Attorneys react to split verdict of suspended Somerset Co. DA Jeff Thomas assault trial

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — After years of sending criminals to prison, suspended Somerset County District Attorney Jeff Thomasspent the night behind bars. The jury returned a guilty verdict -- on six charges -- after Thomas was convicted of assaulting a Windber woman in September of 2021. "This case was never about Jeff Thomas. CVIM Holds COVID Vaccination Clinic in State College

Centre Volunteers In Medicine (CVIM) gave out almost twelve-hundred COVID vaccines today...As efforts to ramp up distribution continue. At Mount Nittany Middle School, a steady stream of people came in today to get a COVID vaccine. The CVIM doled out vaccinations throughout the course of the day.
