Youth headphone use increases risk of hearing loss, study reveals

Much of the younger population maybe at risk of hearing loss. That’s according to the results of a study done within the University of Michigan -- by the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital National Poll on children’s health. The study adds that the main factor of this hearing loss issue within younger populations comes from earbuds -- like the popular air pods and other headphones. The study also shows that 64 percent of parents reported their child uses some type of earbud or headphone and 74 percent believe it is fine — as the volume is not too high. Read More...

3-D archery shoot helps 5-year-olds family pay medical bills

JOHNSTOWN – A 3-D archery shoot was held Saturday at the St. Clair Tremont Club, with all the proceeds benefiting a 5-year-old boy who was hit by a CamTran bus earlier this year. Police said Colton Oster was riding his bike in March when he darted out of an alley into the path of the bus. He was flown to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC with serious injuries. Central PA Art Fest, Heritage Days cancel 2021 in-person events

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — There will be no in-person event this summer for the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, the Board of Directors announced Thursday citing coronavirus concerns. Up to this point, Arts Fest organizers would not give a definitive answer on whether the event, normally held in July, would be at least partially in person. The festival was completely cancelled last year because of the pandemic. Organizers say that although they’re encouraged by the number of Americans receiving vaccines, the ongoing public health guidance makes it impossible for them to produce the beloved event.
