Some health care professionals are voicing concern over Pennsylvania's new multimillion-dollar licensing system, saying it's inefficient and it's creating barriers when it comes to hiring licensed professionals like nurses. The state uses the system to issue licenses for 255 professions across the state including everything from barbers to nurses. The system was rolled out in 2016 to help streamline the licensing process. A spokesperson for the Department of State said the system helps make the online application for licenses more user friendly, eliminates the use of paper records, and helps maintain privacy and security. Apartment fire in Emporium displaces 13

EMPORIUM, Pa. - An apartment fire that broke out Tuesday night in Emporium has rekindled Wednesday. A state police fire marshal said the original fire broke out at a seven-unit apartment complex on East Allegheny Avenue at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday. The fire marshal said the fire started on a back porch on the second story. All seven units were occupied and housed a total of 13 people. Grampian post office closed until further notice after truck crashes into building

UPDATE:GRAMPIAN, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials with the United States Postal Service say that the post office in Grampian, Clearfield County will be closed until further notice after a truck crashed into the building over the weekend. Beginning Monday, May 16, residents in the Grampian area can pick up their mail at the post office in Curwensville, located at 525 State Street. Officials say it is unclear how long it will take to repair the Grampian post office. Read More...
