Health department investigating outbreak at a Virginia university

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The Virginia Department of Health is investigating an outbreak of gastrointestinal illnesses that's sending some to the ER. The symptoms are similar to norovirus: severe abdominal pain, dehydration, vomiting, and diarrhea. VDH said the reports and information they have so far lead them to believe the outbreak is specifically at Liberty University in Lynchburg. Trial date set for Johnstown mother accused of abusing, killing 14-month-old daughter

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Cambria County District Attorney's office confirmed that a trial date has been set for a Johnstown mother accused of abusing and killing her daughter. Police charged 39-year-old Veronica Lewis with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and child endangerment last May for her role in the death of 14-month-old Gianna Rice-Lewis.
