HYNDMAN, Pa. (WJAC) — The National Transportation Safety Board has issued its final report on the August 2017 train derailment in Hyndman, Bedford County.
The NTSB says the “inappropriate” use of hand brakes on empty train cars to control train speed and the placement of blocks of empty cars at the front of the train was the cause.

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities say two Centre County residents have been charged after they allegedly neglected to get care for a young child for nearly two weeks.
Police say that Jordan and Logan Wilkinson, both of Philipsburg, reportedly took the child to the pediatrician in late September for what the two said was a rash.
Police say medical personnel then discovered that the child had multiple broken ribs that were consistent with “non-accidental trauma. Read More...
