Jackson Township residents and supervisors oppose potential closure of Jackson Elementary

Central Cambria school district is looking to cut costs after an appraisal on the taxable real estate at the Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) Fairview powerplant in Jackson Township was estimated five times too high. The district collected taxes from the powerplant based on the high estimate, and that led to the district owing the powerplant about $3.7 million over the next three years officials said. Superintendent at Central Cambria Jason Moore said Jackson is one of their elementary schools, and a feasibility study is being done to see if combining Jackson Elementary with Cambria Elementary is best for the district. Police help man propose during fake traffic stop

CLARE, Mich. (WEYI) — A marriage proposal is always special, but this one made one couple stop in their tracks- literally. David Yoder asked the Clare City Police Department to help him propose to his girlfriend Morgan Bowers. Officer Jared Stotzel pulled the couple over and asked David to get out of the car.
